Plumbing and Heating Magazine has launched a campaign and petition for a boiler scrappage scheme in Northern Ireland.
The initiative has already been introduced in England and, after successful industry campaigns, it is set to be extended to both Wales and Scotland – but there are no plans to introduce this innovative but straightforward
idea to Northern Ireland.
Manufacturers, installers and industry organisations have already backed the campaign and now we are hoping those in the industry will sign the petition.
Signatures are being gathered by email, so simply copy in in the following text and then e-mail your name and full address to boilerscrapni@kmpltd.co.uk
"I call for the boiler scrappage scheme (currently available in England) to be extended to include Northern Ireland'
The campaigners will then deliver the signatures to the Northern Ireland Assembly.
Adam Hassin, Editor of Plumbing & Heating Magazine, says:
"When Mick Williams launched the original petition in England a lot of people from Northern Ireland backed the campaign so it was with some disappointment that the scheme was only introduced in England.
"The plumbing and heating industries in Scotland and Wales have taken the initiative and forced their devolved governments into action so it is imperative that Northern Ireland does not miss out.
"We are delighted at the backing we have already received from leading figures in the industry and with the launch of the petition we are hoping that people from all sections of the plumbing and heating sector in the
province will back the campaign."
